Fluid Guard EG100Product Information
Product Information FluidGuard EG 100 is an inhibited ethylene glycol used as an industrial coolant and heat transfer fluid. The inhibitor system is designed to protect brass, copper, solder, steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other natural metals commonly found in industrial cooling and heating systems. Use of FluidGuard EG provides for long fluid life, corrosion protection, and leak protection in piping, pumps, valves, fittings, and heating or cooling equipment. Coastal Chemical provides users of our FluidGuard products with complete analytical analyses and technical recommendation on fluid quality and applications. FluidGuard EG is commonly used in an aqueous dilution from 20 to 60% by volume. These levels provide freeze protection between -9°C and -46°C(15°F and -50°F), respectively. FluidGuard applications include heating and cooling systems, line heaters, chillers, refrigeration systems, snow melting systems and HVAC systems. FluidGuard Eg is not suitable for use where contact with food or potable water is possible. These systems require FluidGuard PG USP grade products. Typical Physical Properties
FluidGuard EG 100 is designed to be used in a diluted form, typically 50% or less with water. De-ionized water is recommended to minimize unacceptable hardness from minerals. Pre-blended solutions of FluidGuard EG are available from Coastal
Safety & Handling Precautions FluidGuard EG 100 is an industrial chemical and should be handled as such. Users should thoroughly review the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for their products prior to use.
FluidGuard EG properties versus concentration with water are illustrated below. Other physical property data is available from our brochure, FluidGuard EG Physical Properties.
